Vintage Wine Tomato Seeds TM807

TM807A - Vintage Wine

Regular price $4.19 $0.00

Vintage Wine looks like an heirloom tomato, but it's actually a relatively recent introduction from Europe. Tasty, gorgeous 1 lb. fruit are a unique pale pink, with beautiful distinctive golden stripes. Rich flavour and unusual beauty make this a new winner. This is a late season, potato-leaf variety. The tall vines are productive, but require that extra growing time for the fruit to ripen. Start Vintage Wine tomato seeds early indoors and provide absolute protection from summer rains to avoid the blight. Otherwise grow in a greenhouse or beneath a wide awning to shelter from the rain.

How To Grow

Summer-ripened tomatoes are a good source of vitamin C and beta-carotene. The lycopene in the tomatoes is an anti-oxidant, but is only released when the tomatoes are cooked. They also contain compounds that block cancer-causing nitrosamines. We use the convention of Bush to mean determinate (fruit set more or less all at once on short plants). Vine means indeterminate (fruit sets over a longer time on tall-growing plants). Follow along with this handy How to Grow Tomatoes Guide  and grow food.!
