CF320A - Shasta
Shasta cauliflower seeds perform well on the coast. Shasta produces solid, dense, semi-dome heads, 13-18cm (5-7") across. The tightly packed heads have very high quality florets. The plants develop good inner wrapping leaves that partially conceal the heads on these vigorous, upright plants. This is a desirable feature because the leaves shade the heads from the sun, keeping them nice and white. Transplant cauliflower seedlings into fertile, humus rich soil, and use a balanced organic fertilizer at transplant time. If the vigorous growth appears to slow down in summer, top dress with some additional fertilizer.
